Jake prepares a romantic meal but Becca thinks he's only after one thing. Gilly is ecstatic when he finds out he's won tickets to the Manchester derby. Tony is bombarded with phone calls from Il Gnosh as he tries to relax at home. Meanwhile, Josh and Fletch continue with their plans to get fit quick.

Becca enjoys spending all morning with Justin but it doesn't last. Louise is surprised by the arrival of Sean, who she hasn't spoken to in two years. Jack doesn't think the lads are pulling their weight in Frankie's absence.

Sean's Show

At the Osbornes', Darlene is still ruling the roost to Darren's dismay. Sean makes an appearance at the college to see Louise despite her not wanting to see him again - can he charm his way back? Sophie wants to know what's bothering Mel whilst OB is guilt-ridden over leaving Mel when she needed him the most. Michaela encourages Amy to go after Ste but is clueless on how to go about it. Despite Amy's inexperience, Michaela promises Ste will teach her everything she needs to know.

Tony and Dominic fight for the Pit Stop and the Pharmacy at the auction. Craig informs Jack that if Darlene leaves then he will follow suit. Darren sets out to change Craig's mind and point out Darlene's flaws. Louise finds it difficult but manages to put Sean in his place. Meanwhile, Amy goes on her first date with Ste - will she get to first base?

Craig ignores Jack over his treatment of Darlene. Sean makes another appearance and Louise finds it difficult to keep her composure. Jessica panics over her Dear John letter and decides the only way out of this is to intercept Mark's post. Michaela lays the peer pressure on Amy so that Ste can take things further.

Liz decides to cut Darlene loose, leaving her to fend for herself. Russ and Nicole desperately want to tell their parents the truth but Sam insists that he'll do it... eventually. Carrie doesn't believe Sam was involved in the rapes. Jessica can't seem to locate the whereabouts of her letter to Mark - where could it be? Steph catches Cameron playing air guitar and wonders what happened to his rock star ambitions.

Window, 'Lene?

At the Owens', Nicole reveals Sam is a rapist but will his family turn him in if he won't? Craig shows no gratitude to Darren for bedding Darlene in his quest to reveal what a nasty piece of work she is. The thought of Jessica and Mark breaks Gilly's heart.

Rob attempts to help Sam run away to Estonia but Nicole and Carrie catch him on his way out. Sam begs to see Sophie one last time and to Nicole's dismay, Carrie agrees. Darren is confused as to why Craig isn't grateful for his selfless act of sleeping with Darlene. Craig has something up his sleeve and sets up a webcam in the flat. Rhys settles down for a relaxing day only for a distraught Sarah to turn up at his door. Jessica still worries about her missing letter to Mark.

How will Sam tell the truth about him and Andy when he visits Sophie? With there being reports of thefts in halls, Olivia still hasn't found her missing MP3 player. Craig plots against Darren who is busy getting ready for his date. Sarah prefers to spend time with Nancy but is distracted by her mum instead.

Operation Good Guys

Sam prepares to run away with Sophie but his family catch on. Darren forgives Craig for what happened the day before thinking that's the end of it only for Craig to broadcast his webcam footage to the bar, revealing Darren's thoughts on the Welsh, women and students. Sarah trains at the pool again and her spirits are lifted when Rhys shows up which doesn't go unnoticed by her mum.

Gilly Comes Out

Unamused by Craig's revenge, Darren pushes Craig over the limit and is left to regret it. Things are awkward between Amy and Ste since she rejected his advances. Gilly maintains his double life as janitor/student but Louise is on to him as he tries to get to his seminar. The Owen family struggle to come to terms with the fact that Sam is a rapist and the last thing they need is a phone call from the police...

Jessica turns to Mark after being turned down by Gilly. However, Olivia hands Mark the missing letter that Jessica has been trying to track down. Tony keeps an eye on the builders as he tries to find out the plans for the Pitstop and the Pharmacy. His plan to get more information falls flat and he's left a laughing stock. Frankie returns home to find Craig and Darren squaring up to each other. Amy plays down her meeting with Ste but really she is nervous about it.

Joe takes the new students around town, attempting to get them drunk so he can convince them to let Olivia, Jessica, and him stay at the flat. Sophie and Mel try to deal with the fact that Evissa has sprung a leak. Nicole dreads going back to school, and someone in a grey sweatshirt is stalking Russ, Sophie, Mel, and Nicole.

Joe continues to try to convince the new students to let him stay in the flat, while Kris continues to clash with Jessica. Sophie and Mel spend some time together. Clare starts selling some iffy vodka at the Loft, and Justin and Sonny have a tension-filled run-in with Jake and Craig at the Union.

And Bully's Special Prize

John Paul and Craig’s 1st meeting in the 6th form Common Room. John Paul observes Sonny bullying Craig, and later sets off the fire alarm when he sees Sonny and Justin follow Craig again as he didn’t think it was a fair fight.

Clare's Black Belt

John Paul studies alone in a classroom when Craig enters. After initial justification of their own behaviour, the pair start to bond over their need to get the grades to escape from their families and Hollyoaks and go off to lunch together.

Top and Tail

Clare is left running scared after discovering the evidence that O.B., Mel and Sophie have against her. Craig, Steph and Darren are left running The Dog in the Pond after Jake, who was left in charge, ends up getting drunk. Olivia finally gains the courage to stand up to Jess, but all are left shocked when Sam bursts into the pub, armed with a petrol canister and lighter!

Episode 181

The customers in The Dog in the Pond are horrified when Sam bursts in holding a lighter, having doused the pub in petrol. As they struggle to find a way out, Calvin attempts to save Sophie from Sam's clutches by smashing a glass on his head, causing him to drop the lighter and the pub to explode. Sam is killed after being crushed by rubble, having been left to die by Russ. Joe goes to save a trapped Olivia, but they are killed when the alcohol from behind the bar falls and causes a second explosion, and Zoe learns of Joe's death by calling his cellphone - tracing it to one of the body bags. Sophie dies in Russ's arms, and just as Justin learns of Mel's death, he finds Sophie's body. Also, Calvin temporarily puts his problems with the Deans behind him as he saves Jake from the fire.

O.B. Comfy

The aftermath of the fire at The Dog affects everyone in Hollyoaks. Justin mourns the loss of his sisters, Russ feels guilt over his actions regarding Sophie, Zoe regrets not telling Joe she had feelings for him, and Kris doubts the sincerity of Jessica's grief over Olivia. Meanwhile, O.B. remains unconscious, and Clare searches for the proof he had that she cheated on her husband. Jack, Frankie, and the Dean siblings have been displaced from their home, while they are grateful to Calvin for saving Jake's life.

Bedside Manner

O.B. wakes up and is devastated to learn that Mel has died. Clare, meanwhile, tries to make sure that O.B. is unable to tell Max about her fling with Warren. Justin visits Louise to pack up his sisters' things to take with him on his trip to visit his mother. Sarah knows Amy is hiding something from her, but is ultimately distracted by discussions with Nancy about Rhys and Gilly.

Zak is assigned to Olivia's old room, and Jessica feels attacked by Kris, Zoe, Will, and Zak for their continued belief that she was not a good friend to Olivia. O.B. checks himself out of the hospital and stays with Tony while he still plans to expose Clare, not knowing that she has thrown out the evidence of her affair. Sarah still denies feelings for Gilly, but Nancy begins to believe otherwise.

Russ moves into the McQueens – at least till Jacqui is home from prison. John Paul comes in and eyes the snowboard and skis, immediately bonding with another bloke in the house. Myra and the girls prepare a meal for Russ. Jacqui arrives home unexpectedly and thinks Russ is a burglar.

The McQueens prepare for Jacqui’s welcome home tea. Mercy is anxious over a deal she made with Jacq over the 300 quid shoes she nicked – if she can’t find them then Jacq gets to sleep with her boyfriend.. John Paul has nicked Michaela’s phone and is roped in to getting replacement shoes or Mercy will hell mum about the phone. Finishes with the presents and welcome home tea.

Sonny tells John Paul he is entering a DJ competition at the Loft and invites John Paul to go and see him. John Paul later meets Craig who supports John Paul entering the competition. Sonny cheats by using a CD. In the toilets John Paul asks Sonny to leave Craig alone as it’s his brother who is guilty.. John Paul wins the competition and is made resident DJ.

Home Sweet Home

John Paul goes to see Claire to sort out his first gig at the Loft. As he goes to school he sees Sonny bullying Craig in the village; he asks Craig if he’s still up for the football tryouts with him. The pair go to get changed and Craig finds his mum put in odd socks including one pink sock triggering more bullying from Sonny. John Paul is annoyed at the tryouts that Michaela is interested in Sonny. Michaela is annoyed he is so perfect, and John Paul says he’d swap shoes any day.

Bills, Bills, Bills...

Craig and Sonny wait with Frankie and Calvin to face the head over their debacle after the trials. They are both given a warning and Sonny refuses to shake hands and make peace. Craig decides he can’t handle Sonny and will leave school. When he has met John Paul, his mate questions why he’d return to school to just give up. The pair see Jake and Carmel outside the salon who give Craig ideas for jobs. By the end of the conversation he is ready to return to school!

Carmel asks Jake out for a date. Sarah asks Amy to move in with her and Mike. Becca and Justin try to make up after their fight about Justin's using her credit card for the engagement ring.

Sonny jostles John Paul so he drops his records on the way in to the Loft. Sonny shows his annoyance that John Paul won, but John Paul stands his ground. Sonny takes over trying to act cool and knowledgable during the sound check – it seems Warren has offered him a second chance and he is told to return after JP has warmed up. John Paul goes down a storm on his first gig much to Sonny’s annoyance, and Claire won’t remove JP from the decks.

Craig makes a play for Sarah and both are trying to matchmake John Paul and Hannah who is far more interested in him than he is in her. Hannah invites her friends round to her house and is a bit full on with John Paul. Craig is desperate to ask Sarah out.

Craig tries unsuccessfully to persuade John Paul to ask out Hannah so they can arrange a double date so it’s easier to ask out Sarah. Sarah comes down to Drive n Buy for chocolate, and she suggests the two mates go to give her ideas for her essay on reconstructing a popular horror story. John Paul leaves Craig and Sarah as they are clearly getting on. After he goes they do get off together but are interrupted when Sarah receives an emergency phone call that Amy has been in a car crash.
